The project‘s concept is based on the existing and traditional terraces in Cyprus and more specifically Latsia landscape which become the foundations for a sustainable water system, essential for the maintenance of a park given the Mediterranean climatological conditions. It consists on the consolidation of Pallourokampos’ existing terraces that define the park’s configuration. These terraces allow not only the management of the slope and water but they generate an intrinsic spatial relation between the park activities, facilties, the landscape and the views. The main facilities and buildings ( such as the enviromental centre and sports facilities) are derived morphologically from the understanding of the local landscape and integrate themselves naturally into the overall design.
